WHY DIFFERENT FINANCIAL INDUSTRIES HAVE THEIR BRANCHES IN ISIOLO

The players in the financial indusry are apprised that Isiolo County is going to become a major part of the Kenyan economic development plan in future. The plan calls for Isiolo to become a mojor tourist centre that is going to include likes of casinos, hotels, modern international airport and a major transport hub which includes the Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia Transport (LAPPSET) project, Future resort city, a railway center, an oil depot and these different financial institutions would like to tap into Isiolo county's economic growth

The banks include KCB, Equity Bank, Barclays Bank, Consolidated Bank, Sydian Bank, will be offering their services to customers in Isiolo region which is widely known for various activities like pastoralism, farming based on irrigation tourism en route to Samburu, Marsabit and Wajir Counties. This move to open banks in Isiolo is strategic and is aimed at tapping into the county economic potentials.

Isiolo town also enjoys the commercial services of likes of the Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT) and other co-operative societies. The opening of the National Banks branch seeks to increase its customers within the county of Isiolo while also tapping into Isiolo County's economic growth potentially based on the lappset corridor.

This is an opportunity for the real estate company to invest in the area. Storage facilities, residential homes and offices will be needed in the area because of the upcoming Airport and the growing number of business people who are migrating to the area. The desert town saw the entry of its eight commercial bank as financial institutions rush to book a space in the city of the future. As a businessman, it’s not hard to see how bright the future of Isiolo is. The World Bank once ranked Isiolo as the second easiest place to start a business after Thika town.
